It’s their first concert in Singapore in three years
If you feel like Super Junior hasn’t been in Singapore for a long time, it’s because they haven’t. The group last came here in May 2015 for Super Show 6, shortly after Shindong and Sungmin started their mandatory national service, and before Eunhyuk, Siwon and Donghae started theirs. This will be their first concert ever since the quintet’s release from the military service.
You’ll see Power Rangers
Spoiler alert (sorry, this alert came too late, we guess): The members will be dressed as Power Rangers during a segment of the concert. Leader Leeteuk is surprisingly Red Ranger (who was the leader of original Power Rangers). And we say surprising because red is Heechul’s favourite colour (even his furniture is red) so we thought he would have wanted to be Red Ranger. Well, we guess pink is close to red too.
You might witness their cute mistakes
Some fans might be unforgiving when it comes to mistakes made at concerts, but not Super Junior fans (well, most mistakes anyway). The group have made their fair share of mistakes over the years, but one of the most iconic ones have got to be their “Evanesce” performances, which see one or more members missing the cue to go up the elevated stage. While we’re not hoping for mistakes this time round, you gotta admit their reactions are always endearing!
You might enjoy their cheesy ment
OK, let’s be real: Super Junior’s leader is one of the cheesiest people in K-pop. His words have made both the members and fans cringe, and he’s unabashed about it. But it’s also something fans look forward to because he knows exactly what to say to make fans go “Nawww…”
You’ll be charmed by the Super Junior brand of humour
If there’s anything Super Junior is known for, it’s their brand of humour. This is also the reason why the members are not only singers, but also emcees for awards shows and variety shows, and radio DJs. Going to a Super Junior concert will pretty much guarantee a good laugh, as their antics will have you doubling over in stitches.
You’ll be enthralled by their talents
Of course, Super Junior is not only about funny performances. All of their members are also talented in their own ways. For example, Yesung’s melancholic vocals will tug at your heartstrings, while Eunhyuk’s dance skills will make you grip the edge of your seats in excitement. For this tour, Heechul will once again display his skills on the drum set for his solo.
You’ll feel the camaraderie among the members
Any Super Junior fan worth (his or) her salt would know how close the members are. Shindong mentioned in a recent interview that the members behave like a family, and this much is obvious when you see their interactions at concerts. And this energy is addictive, so you’ll definitely feel like you’re hanging out at a friend’s party instead of going for a normal concert.
