We love it when bae treats us to a romantic dinner, but sometimes we need to return the favour. Lucky for us, the recent new restaurant openings in Singapore have been decidedly…manly. Not that a girl can’t enjoy a good steak, but amongst these options we’re pretty sure you’ll find something your S.O will like just as much.

Located on the bustling Amoy Street, this one is for those with a more atas palate. The five-course tasting menu is definitely worth it and gives you the chance to sample a lot of what this contemporary Australian establishment has to offer. The slow-cooked short ribs are not to be missed.

Overlooking the scenic Marina at Keppel Bay, this is the perfect spot to watch the sunset as you wine and dine your date. Bayswater Kitchen has a relaxed Mediterranean vibe, with a menu that revolves around simple yet surprising seafood dishes. Their Fish and Chips, $19, for example, is a deconstructed take on the English staple that features beer-battered cod, thread-thin fries and crushed peas. It also caters to meat lovers and vegetarians with juicy steaks and grilled vegetables. There’s also a foosball and ping-pong table at the back, for some after-meal fun.
Audace Bar and Restaurant
Though it opened earlier this year, Audace constantly changes up the menu and this month focuses on bringing a taste of Alpine herbs to the table — this of course means lots of well-seasoned meats and fish like the Pork Belly and the Smoked Mackerel, each of which features the wonderful flavours of Europe.

With restaurants around the world including cities like Hong Kong, Tokyo and Seoul, Wolfgang’s Steakhouse by Wolfgang Zwiener now comes to Singapore. Situated at The Quayside, the New York institution is all about serving up the very best dry-aged beef, char-broiled to perfection. Each piece of meat is butchered in-house and has a deep and nutty flavour in addition to being extremely tender. Priding themselves on tradition, you can enjoy the steak on your own, or try the two and three people sharing portions.

A tapas bar that brings the flavours of Alicante, Spain to Singapore, La Pepa is all about delicious, bite-sized pieces that are great for sharing. Best yet, they’ve also got a wide range of wines, ciders and beers to pair them with. Try the Baby Chicken, which is great for sharing, and which really brings the diverse flavours of Spain home.

Grains & Hops Restaurant and Bar
This newly-opened hotel at Orchard Road is inspired by the service of First and Business Class but thankfully the food wasn’t taken from the airplane. Instead, you get Grains & Hops Restaurant and Bar, another great place for sharing. Their focus is on skewered meats and seafood, as well as serving up Yotel Singapore’s very own brew of craft beer.
YOTEL Singapore, Level 10,, 366 Orchard Road, 238904
The Ottomani is a secret supper club — well not really secret but it is designed to be a pretty special experience with a portable cocktail bar and a chef that used to head up some of the top tables in London. The food is modern Middle Eastern, like the kebab tartare of ground beef and herbs, or the spinach and cheese triangles . Think homey but chic.
