Have you ever blanked out when your boyfriend asks what you want to do for the next date night? Dating in Singapore can be exciting but most opt for the usual dinner or movies because searching for new ideas require too much work. The good news is, we’ve done the work for you by rounding up nine uncommon date ideas.
Have sex in a new place
What’s so erotic about doing the deed on top of the washer or other places you’ve never thought of? Only one way to find out.
Be a tourist in your own city
We’d wager a bet that some of your friends from out of town have visited more attractions in Singapore than you have. If you’d rather not jostle with other tourists for a picture with the Merlion, we’ll have you know that some of the city’s most magnificent places aren’t in the tourist hotspots or heritage areas, but in your very neighborhood.
Book a health check-up together
Doctor’s appointments can get incredibly draggy – don’t even get us started on the wait – so having company definitely helps. Accompany each other to your health check-ups. Being directly involved makes it easier to keep tabs on your partner’s health, too. Both for their sake and yours!
Have a HUGE fight
Losing your sh*t can be cathartic, and much healthier than keeping it all in. Just make sure you reach a compromise and grow as a couple after.
Go on a double date
Jio your BFF and her partner for a double date! But before you plan one, make sure that your boyfriend can get along with hers. You wouldn’t want the date to culminate into a nasty argument.
Mandate a thorough closet clean-up
Make a closet clean-up a joint effort by cleaning each other’s closet together. Take a weekend to weed through all of his stretched-out plain tees, and your excessive collection of socks. It might all be concealed behind your wardrobe doors, but an organised, uncluttered wardrobe saves so much time each morning, and gives you a sense of calm at home. Try to keep your wardrobe organised as long as possible, although failure is only a matter of time – which is why this should be at least a yearly affair.
Visit a city you’ve never been to before
You don’t have to go far to get away – there’s tons to explore in Southeast Asia alone, whether you’re after a tropical city-detox or an adrenaline-packed adventure. And even a weekend is good enough! Some good spots include Johor Bahru, Batam, Bintan and Koh Samui.
Go for a non-fancy dinner
And by this, we mean eating in the HDB estates or even having fast-food. Because you don’t really need to dine at an atas restaurant to have a good date.
