Currently swiping for love? Then you’ve got to know this: Hinge, a relationship app, recently analysed some 180,000 user photos with the goal of finding out if travel pics get you more interest. And it turns out that they do.
Although only 3.4 percent of the photos on dating profiles are travel photos, they get 30 percent more likes. The study also found that women’s pics in Maui and Santorini receive 60% and 93% more likes respectively than the average photo. So if you’ve visited those hot spots, you know what pics to put up.
If you haven’t, finding photos with similar-looking backgrounds (gorgeous beaches, seaside towns) just might do the trick.
Plus, us ladies sure like our men well-travelled—Hinge also found that we’re 33 percent more likely than our male counterparts to initiate a conversation with someone with a travel photo.
But back to acing your dating profile. Got too many travel pics and unsure which to use? CLEO’s Sub-editor and only male staffer, Syafii (who also did our pole dancing story), can help. Scroll the gallery to find out what he thinks about the seven common types of travel pics.
