As if periods aren’t bothersome enough, there are menstrual cramps. Some days they make us want to just curl up and die, and they’re also in addition to how we already feel crappy during the weeks leading up to that time of the month (an insatiable appetite and dip in mood/energy levels aren’t exactly the combo for feeling good about ourselves).
Want to ease the pains? Here are some tips from Watsons pharmacist Ang Wei Min.
Use a heating pad or hot water bottle on your tummy
Heat dulls the pain and brings immediate relief.

Take a warm bath
Heat can block the effect of chemical messengers that cause pain.
Maintain regularly activity levels as the more active you are, the less likely you are to have cramps.
Relax. The less you think about the pain, the easier it is to feel better.
Paracetamol, Aspirin, Ibuprofen or Naproxen can be consumed to help relieve the pain.
