When it comes to planning a wedding, one of the top priorities is, of course, the wedding venue. While there are numerous venues to choose from in Singapore, many come with a hefty price tag, which makes your overall wedding costs soar. But you don’t always have to go for the tried-and-tested formula.
If you’re considering a wedding venue that’s not a five-star hotel, here are affordable options that will also give you a different kind of experience.
The Arts House at The Old Parliament
A wedding doesn’t get more unique than this. Did you know you could actually book a space at The Arts House on such an occasion? There’s something so very Carrie Bradshaw about this. If you and your other half are culture vultures, then, voila! Starting a future as man and wife amid the history of Singapore? How poetic is that?
Cost: From $17 (venue only)
Capacity: up to 200 guests
Vineyard at Hortpark
Intimate. Simple. Classy. Is that what you have in mind for your special day — or night? There is a gorgeous spot overlooking greenery as far as the eyes can see, and an “infinity” pond that provides a picture-perfect backdrop.
Cost: $73 to $138
Capacity: Up to 135 guests
Open Farm Community
Getting married on a farm? Why not? Open Farm community is not your typical farm. It’s a farm-to-table restaurant with a beautiful rustic garden setting which will make for a truly unforgettable wedding. Oh, and the food is great, too.
Cost: $57 to $135 per pax (inclusive of meals) / S$68 to S$120 per pax (inclusive of canapés)
Capacity: Up to 48
Little Island Brewing Co
Cool couples, hands up! This one is for you. The industrial-chic café boasts an alfresco space which, if you’re lucky, will offer you the gift of a sunset by the sea as you say “I do”. If you’re not one for fuss, and just want to enjoy a good time with everyone you care about — imagine a live band and dancing all night long — then the Little Island Brewing Co is the place for your big day.
Cost: $80 to $104 (inclusive of meals)
Capacity: Up to 472
Is your dream wedding a fairy tale set in a garden? Look no further than Gardenasia, which has an outdoor chapel area, which is a romantic choice for your solemnisation. Its luscious greenery is the ideal backdrop against which to exchange your vows. Dreamy.
Cost: $20 to $85 per pax
Capacity: Up to 420 guests
A lovely black-and-white house that oozes class and warmth in every corner. This cosy space can hold up to 100 guests, and is perfect for a mid-sized wedding with your closest friends and family.
Cost: $51to $165 per pax (inclusive of meals) / Up to S$34 per pax (inclusive of canapés)

The Chapel at Imaginarium
A capacious (read: super spacious) venue that gives off an intimate vibe with its clean lines and interior, this chapel has a long aisle that is going to make a bride feel like a princess. That said, you won’t actually have to be royalty to afford the space. It’s affordable and gives you the luxury of customising the layout to exactly how you envision it, and has a lovely bridal room to boot. All we can say is, book now.
Cost: $10 to $41
Capacity: Up to 350 guests
