Well, there is some truth to that, but the reason why your vagina smells weird is not because of the smell of the food, but because of vaginal health.
In the same way that the food you eat can affect your overall health, there are foods you should munch on for a health vagina. Here are 10.
If you’ve ever had a urinary tract infection, you’d be aware of the benefits of cranberry juice. Studies have suggested that these crimson berries contain active compounds to fight bacteria such as E.coli.

Just two to three cloves of garlic contain enough antifungal properties that help reduce itch, odour, vaginal discharge and burning sensations. It also reduces the risk of vaginal infection, as it boosts your body’s immune system. If eating garlic raw sounds too daunting, add them in small amounts to your daily dishes. Garlic capsules are also sold in the market.
There’s a reason why avocados are a superfood. Not only are they great for weight loss and achieving clear skin, they’re also amazing for your vagina. Avocados contain healthy fats that keeps the vagina walls strong while giving your libido a boost.
Tea contains antioxidants and flavonoids that help reduce the risk of ovarian cancer. The antioxidants also help to increase nitric oxide production in your blood so your artery walls become more relaxed, so you don’t suffer as much through your period.

Oysters contain zinc, which helps to regulate bloodflow during periods and maintain the pH balance in your vagina.
Much like black tea, red wine contains flavonoids that could potentially reduce the risk of ovarian cancer.
Besides being a great source of healthy carbs, sweet potatoes also contain vitamin A that helps to maintain healthy vaginal and uterine health.
Dark, leafy veggies
Dark greens like spinach, kale and Swiss chard are bursting with vitamins A and C. They’re great in helping improve blood circulation to the vagina, as well as help fight off any infections. It can also help reduce any itch or burning sensation.
Dark chocolate is full of antioxidants that can help boost overall vaginal health.
Greek yoghurt has naturally occurring probiotics that’s good for your vaginal health. It also helps to ward off yeast infections and balance the body’s pH levels.
