So you have a strict dental hygiene routine but still encounter bad breath? Well the answer could be in these five foods that help to freshen your breath.
1. Parsley and Basil
These two herbs are age-old remedies to counter bad breath. It is said that these herbs contain compounds that break down the sulphur (that causes bad breath) in some foods so they no longer linger in your mouth.
Much like parsley and basil, tea too contains some compounds that can help break down sulphur and prevent oral bacterial growth. So the next time you’re out for a meal, order some tea afterwards.
A lot of the time, a dry and humid mouth is the ideal environment for bacteria to thrive. Drinking water helps to produce more saliva, a natural cleaning agent for your mouth.
4. Capsicum and Lettuce
Full of fibre and vitamin C, the crunchy nature of capsicums can potentially help to loosen food particles that could be lodged in your molars, reducing your bad breath. Lettuce is full of water and can help to freshen your breath.
5. Sugarless Gum
Sugarless gum can help to dislodge food particles stuck in your teeth and help your mouth produce more saliva to cleanse your mouth.
