On Friday, all eyes were 1.8m Jean Yong as she walked her way to the top prize of The New Paper New Face 2017 contest held at Paragon. In addition, she was also named the Cosmoprof Miss Photogenic, walking away with two prizes (not to mention a shoot in our very own CLEO magazine).
“This just feels so surreal,” said Jean, moments after her win. The brainy beauty has a degree in biological sciences and management from Imperial College London and works as a part-time research assistant at the National University Health System. She walks away with $10,000 cash and will also have many future opportunities to make it big like previous New Face winners supermodel and judge Diya Prabhakar and CLEO cover star Jasmine Sim.
The first and second runners-up were Ms Ameerah Smith, 23, and Melanie Kasise, 14, respectively. Melanie was the youngest contestant this year. Check out the winners working the runway in the gallery below!
