7 Cheap Beauty Tricks And Fixes

Most of us are guilty of spending a fortune on beauty products but did you know that there are cheaper alternatives to a few products that we use in our daily lives? Here’s how to still look like a million dollars without breaking the bank.

1. Baby powder or baking powder as dry shampoo
Sprinkle a bit of the powder on your scalp to absorb the oil and then comb through. Don’t apply too much or your strands will appear greyish.

2. Baby shampoo as brush cleanser
Clean your makeup brushes with baby shampoo to get rid of the gunk while keeping the bristles soft. If it’s gentle enough for a baby’s hair, it’s good enough for the bristles.

3. Sugar as body scrub
The sugar granules make for a great alternative to store-bought scrubs. Add a few drops of your fave essential oil to leave a trail of scent.

4. Conditioner as shaving cream
Ran out of shaving cream? Simply apply conditioner on the area you wanna shave and run your blade over. The slickness of the conditioner affords you a close shave.

5. Flat iron as hair curler
You don’t have to invest in a separate hair curler to get those waves. Wrap your hair around the straightener to transform your tresses from stick-straight into glamorous curls.

6. Old mascara wands as brow brush
Instead of throwing out old mascaras, remove the remaining product on the wand and use it as a brow brush. Now you don’t have to spend money on a spoolie!

7. Eyeshadow as nail polish
Broke a pot of eyeshadow? Don’t throw it out. Mix the powder with clear nail polish and voila, you’ll get a new bottle of nail colour!
