A flawless base makeup is not only about wearing the right foundation for your skin type, but also downplaying your imperfections. Before you start loading on the concealer, hold that thought.
Sometimes, what you need is a colour-correcting product to tackle the problems. Of course, it’s not as simple as putting a Snapchat filter onto a photo. You need to first pinpoint your area of concern before deciding which colour-correcting product you should go for.
Here is a breakdown of how the colours work:
Blue/Lavender: A complementary colour to yellow on the colour wheel and perfect for concealing sallowness. Apply lightly on light-catching areas, such as the apples of your cheeks, under the brow arch and around the lips.
Green: Neutralises redness and is ideal for light complexions and rosy skin. The green tint conceals traces of acne, scars and red patches on the skin.
Yellow: Helps to soften and balance out violet-tinted shadows and vessels.
