It’s no secret that the Victoria’s Secret Angels actually work really hard for their toned physiques. With just over a month to the 2017 VS Fashion Show, preparations are now in full swing. We caught up with Martha Hunt during her recent Ballet Beautiful workout to get a glimpse of what it’s like to #trainlikeanangel.
What’s your current fitness routine like?
It changes depending on my work schedule, but I try to fit in at least three times a week. This can be amped up to four times a week leading up to the show.
What’s the best workout advice you’ve ever heard?
My trainer told me to continue to challenge yourself with new exercises that will help connect your mind and your body because that’s when you’ll start to see results.
How do you stay fit while travelling?
My job keeps me on my feet and moving around a lot, so that’s part of it. But I also fit in workouts while I’m on the go. I’ll do push-ups or plank work in my hotel room or fit in 20 minutes at the hotel gym just to get some type of activity.
What’s your diet like now that the show is a month away?
I just eat a well-balanced diet. We have to eat a lot because we have to make up for all the calories we’re burning doing all the workouts leading up to the show.
What’s your favourite cheat meal?
Probably a juicy burger, fries, and a milkshake.
When do you feel most confident?
I feel most confident after I’ve worked out – and when I’m wearing Victoria’s Secret lingerie!
What’s your go-to beauty routine?
I travel a lot, so I need a lot of hydration. Lately, I’ve been using this rejuvenated nutritional supplement. Other than that, I like Charlotte Tilbury’s skincare line because it’s very basic and hydrating. I like simple products that aren’t too fussy.
What’s the craziest thing you’ve done in the name of beauty?
I’ve bleached my eyebrows quite a bit for shows and shoots. Once, I spent a whole summer in Paris with bleached brows and I looked crazy, but my agency was convinced I had to keep them bleached!
What do you enjoy most about being part of the Victoria’s Secret family?
I like being a part of such an empowered, confident group of girls. And that the brand treats you like family.
Do you have a mantra or ritual to prep yourself before the show?
I try to meditate and take the week off before the show to just focus on taking care of myself and feeling my best.
Follow Martha’s full workout with Mary Helen Bowers at Ballet Beautiful below. The 30-minute dance-inspired routine will help you stretch and open up stiff muscles while working on total body strength. Be prepared to be aching after!
