Earlier this year, Dior launched Le Cushion Teint De Rose, a new cushion foundation that costs a whopping $140. As someone whose makeup shelf consists mainly of drugstore to mid-range products, the first thought that crossed my mind was: Wow, will this foundation help me get a promotion, find love, clear my credit card debts, and help me live my best life, etc?
As part of the Dior Prestige range, the Le Cushion Teint De Rose SPF 50 PA+++ is both a cosmetic and skincare product. Apparently, each cushion is infused with the concentrate of 500 Rose de Granville petals. This specific breed of rose was originally found in the wild – perched on the cliffs of Granville – and are known to be very resilient despite its delicate appearance. As a skincare ingredient, the Rose de Granville is known for its regenerative properties, which is great if you have some damage on your skin that you’d like to reverse.
Another major selling point of this cushion is its rose colour blend complex. Dior’s researchers found that the uniform colour of the Rose de Granville is due to the balance of an assortment of pigments, and they’ve replicated that in this foundation’s formula so that it’ll colour correct your complexion. There’s also rose light pigments, which promises a youthful and glowing finish.
So now the question is: Can this $140 foundation cushion perform a makeup miracle? Scroll through the gallery below to see the before and after for yourself.
