“I want dull skin,” said no one ever. However, I’ve just returned from an overseas trip where I spent lots of time in the sun, and I now have dull skin that’s also dehydrated with an uneven skin tone. There’s also a bit of redness, which flares up every time I go out in the sun. And I’m at least a shade deeper than my usual skin tone.
The thing is, like most people, I discount the role of sun care when it comes to getting healthy, glowing skin. The bleak truth is that sun damage doesn’t just lead to pigmentation, but also dehydrated and rough skin. This, in turn, causes your skin to look dull because light bounces off the skin unevenly. I decided to try Dr. Ora AURA WHITE Ultra to help me get brighter, glowing skin.
Dr. Ora who?
Not to be confused with Rita Ora, Dr. Ora AURA WHITE Ultra is an oral supplement that helps to protect skin from sun damage while boosting radiance and evening out the skin tone. Best taken first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, it comes in convenient sachets and can be consumed directly or mixed with 100ml of water. You can have your breakfast 15 minutes later.
Each sachet is packed with skin-nourishing natural ingredients like pomegranate, yeast, grape seed, artichoke, camellia Japonica and apple extracts along with vitamin C to fight damage caused by free radicals, even out the skin tone, and strengthen the skin’s natural defences while hydrating it.
It’s also suitable for vegetarians, is halal and certified gluten-free.
As per the instructions on the box, I mixed a sachet in water and drank it before my breakfast. I also tried consuming the powder directly to save some time, but given that I cannot stop breathing for even two seconds, the powder went up my nose. Not pretty.
The great part about this is that is actually tastes good. It has a fruity, tart and refreshing flavour that makes me look forward to taking it every morning. It didn’t affect my appetite in any way or have any side effects at all.
I’ve suffered from acne my whole life and have some Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH) or acne marks on my face. After about three weeks of taking Dr. Ora AURA WHITE Ultra every morning, I noticed some of my sun spots and acne scars looked lighter.
Another thing I noticed is that my skin no longer gets as red and inflamed when I go out in the sun—probably because this supplement doubles as oral sun protection. Dr. Ora AURA WHITE Ultra also helps to regulate skin cell renewal cycles to promote the exfoliation of dull, dead skin, which is then replaced by new, brighter skin. Simply put, my skin looked more even-toned and radiant than ever. And it wasn’t just me who noticed—my colleagues pointed it out too.
If you’re looking for a supplement that’s fuss-free and that you can bring on short getaways or the gym without lugging a huge bottle along, this might just work for you.
