If an Hermès Birkin is one of your dream bags but you’re not on the waiting list yet, fret not, you can buy another piece of Hermes in the meantime.
The brand just released a first look at their first beauty range, Rouge Hermès , complete with prices in Singapore.
Rouge Hermès marks the brand’s first foray into beauty, which they described as the “founding manifesto of the new métier of Beauty” and “the first Hermès Beauty gesture”. It comprises a lip collection—think lipsticks, lip balms and the works.
Here’s what you need to know before the brand drops this range on March 4 at the Hermès stores at Liat Towers, Marina Bay Sands and Takashimaya.
There are 24 colours
From nude to a bright orange that’s the same shade as their iconic packaging, the brand covers quite an extensive colour palette for their lipsticks. Why 24? It’s a mirror of the address of their global flagship store at Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris, France.
Each lipstick will retail for $103 each.
Choose between two finishes
There will be 14 shades with satin finishes, and 10 with matte finishes, including Orange Boîte and Rouge Casaque that will come in both matte and satin finishes. Those with matte finishes will have a pointed tip, allowing for precise application. On the other hand, the satin ones have a rounded tip for full application. For an even more precise application, invest in the lip brush, which will retail for $120.
The lipsticks are refillable
If you’re big on sustainability, here’s another reason to buy the brand: their lipsticks are refillable*. Which means, if you run out of your favourite shade, you can purchase the bullet without buying the whole packaging. The brand also used plastic minimally in their packaging, choosing to use metal, which is more durable.
*Refills are not available during the launch period.
The brand will be releasing accessories to complement the lipsticks
Want another piece of Hermès to complement your lipstick? Good news, the brand will be accessories to go with your lip products. From a lipstick case with a mirror to a pop-up lipstick case and a mirror on card, they’ve got you covered for those touch-ups.
- Lipstick case with integrated mirror, $790
- Pop-up lipstick case, $3,050
- Moon-shaped mirror on a cord, $1,100
No release date has been confirmed for these accessories.
The Universal Lip Pencil is adaptable
Most beauty people would know how important lip pencils are for a clean, precise application, but not all of us have 10 lip liners to complement the 100 lipsticks we have. Hermès seems to understand this because their lip pencil comes in an invisible finish so you can use it with any lip colour. You might not see it on your lips, but it’s doing its job of preventing bleeding around the edges. You can also apply it all over your lips as a primer to make your lipstick last longer.
The Universal Lip Pencil will retail for $57.
There’s a luxe lip balm
Want your lipcare to be Hermès too? Then you’d want to get your hands on the Lip Care Balm, which is infused with beeswax and candelilla wax to retain hydration on your lips without giving it that shiny finish. Use as a base or on its own for healthy-looking lips.
The Lip Care Balm will retail for $103.
No makeup days? They’ve got you covered
On days when you don’t feel like putting on makeup or lip colours, go for the Poppy Lip Shine, which leaves your puckers with a slight tint and high shine. Just the kind you’d want to wear while running quick errands.
The Poppy Lip Shine will retail for $103.
You can collect their limited edition collection
We’re not done yet—or at least the brand isn’t. Apart from the lipsticks, lip balm and everything we’ve covered, they’ll also have a limited edition collection comprising three shades: bold rose, plum-tinged violet and coral. This is part of their Spring Summer 2020 collection, and will be available for a limited time only.
The Totem Collection 2020 Spring-Summer Limited Collection will retail for $111 each.
