Smokey eyes are not easy to create. It requires matching the right colours and applying those colours on the right area.
Thankfully, there are cheats to creating that effect. You could either use an eyeshadow sticker, or follow this tutorial.
Makeup artist Venetia Stravens introduced a super easy way of achieving the smokey effect sans an eyeshadow palette and brushes. All you need is one product – an eyeshadow pencil.
In the tutorial, Venetia used NARS Soft Touch Shadow Pencil in Aigle Noi, a black pencil with gold shimmer.
Here’s how to do it.
Step 1: Apply primer all over your lids.
Step 2: Draw a line using the pencil shadow close to your lashline.
Step 3: Extend the line to your crease, then use your finger to blend the colour.
Step 4: Apply another layer of colour for a more intense finish and blend.
Step 5: Apply the colour under the lashline (tightlining). You can either wear it out like this, or move on to the next step.
Step 6: Line your waterline using the same pencil shadow and smudge a little for a party-ready look.
