Want highlighter that’s extra AF like the beauty YouTubers? Or do you prefer something subtle for that dewy glow like a Korean star? Makeup artist and beauty content creator Sahur tested a bunch of the most extra highlighters for Beauty Hall of Fame and chose her favourite. Here are her top tips to achieving every level of glow.
For a healthy glow
Sometimes you just want that glow but your skincare fails you. What do you do? While you can opt for a foundation with a dewy finish, Sahur has a quicker fix: “Mix a liquid highlighter with your foundation and apply only to the highest points of your face. This will ensure a natural, radiant look.”
A little goes a long way when it comes to this liquid highlighter. It’s called custom enhancer drops just because depending on how many drops you put, you can legit customise how “enhanced” you want the glow to be.
For a shimmery glow
Want to up your highlighter game? On top of mixing highlighter with your foundation, apply it as it is. She says, “Using your fingers, apply a liquid highlighter onto the highest points of your face.”
Try: Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid Highlighter 50ml, $62
One thing about Becca is that their highlighters are super pigmented and extra, so a little goes a long way. Depending on your skin tone, pick a colour that makes you look glowy, not pasty or overly bronzed.
For a really extra glow
We love highlighters that are so blinding that you need to wear sunglasses. If, like us, you love being super extra when it comes to the highlight, follow her advice: “Apply a powder highlighter, spritz on a setting spray so the skin is wet and then reapply the powder highlighter for a contoured look.”
NARS Illuminating Loose Powder, $32, Most Extra Highlighter, CLEO Beauty Hall of Fame 2019
This highlighter was Sahur’s pick when she judged the Most Extra Highlighter category for CLEO Beauty Hall of Fame, so you can be sure that it lives up to its status as a winner. This comes in their famed shade, Orgasm.
