If you find glitter too OTT and matte textures extremely blah, you might want to add metallic pigments to your beauty stash—especially for the festive season. These loose powders can be used on the eyes, cheeks and lips to add a sheen. The best part about using pigments is that you can use as little or as much as you want to achieve the desired sheen.
When used as eye makeup, pigments can be used on their own—after applying a primer or base for them to adhere to—or dabbed on to the centre of the eyelids over an eyeshadow to add dimension.
Using it on your lips? Just lightly dab it on to the Cupid’s bow and center of your lips to give the illusion of a fuller pout. Alternatively, apply a layer over your lipstick to transform any lip colour into a metallic one.
When used sparingly on your cheeks to accentuate the high points, metallic pigments double up as highlighter.
