If you’ve been hearing rumours for the longest time that K-pop boy group BTS is coming to Singapore, it’s now official: it’s true, BTS is coming to Singapore.
The septet will be performing at the Singapore National Stadium—yes, the 55,000-seater stadium—come January 19, 2019, as part of their Love Yourself world tour. The concert, jointly organised by Live Nation and One Production, was announced on One Production’s Facebook page last night.
No ticketing details have been released but judging from past concerts at the same venue, tickets can go up to $388 (for One Direction’s concert in 2015).
Although there has been concerns over the quality of sound system at National Stadium—Jay Chou fans even petitioned for a refund in 2016 because of this reason—Mayday’s concert earlier this year seemed to have suggested that there has been an improvement in the quality of sound.
And judging by the standards of a K-pop concert, you won’t only be in for an aural treat, but a visual one as well. Expect them to sing hit tracks such as “Blood Sweat & Tears”, “DNA” and their newer track “Idol”.
The group started the tour in Seoul with a two-day sold out concert, and have been selling out arenas in American cities as well as Europe.
They’ll be bring the tour back to Asia in November, with Tokyo as their first stop. Based on their current schedule, the group will host back-to-back weekend shows until April next year, with Hong Kong getting a four-night show.
Unfortunately, Singapore only gets one show, but hey, at least we’re getting a bigger venue.
The group held a solo concert in Singapore in 2014 before returning for Music Bank World Tour in 2017.
The ticketing details are out!
