In the same way that office romances happen all the time, it’s unsurprising that Korean celebrities would end up in relationships after working together. Take the Song-Song couple, for example. They literally went from Tumblr and Twitter’s favourite onscreen OTP to a real-life OTP. Of course, this onscreen-to-offscreen romance is nothing new. Before Song-Song, other actors and actresses have also met and fallen in love on set – and some even ended up in marriage. Here are a few.
Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo
If you haven’t read their letters to fans, their love story basically go like this: They met on the set of Descendants of the Sun and became attracted to each other. They realised that they match well in terms of personality, and earlier this year, decided to spend the rest of their lives together. They will get married in a ceremony on October 31.
Junjin and Lee Si Young
Although they have broken up, Shinhwa’s Junjin and actress Lee Si Young became a real-life couple after “pretending” to be a married one on variety show We Got Married. They dated for less than a year before calling it quits.
Lee Sung Kyung and Nam Joo Hyuk
The models-turned-actors fell in love while filming Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo last year. They confirmed their relationship in April after photos of them on a date were published by a Korean news outlet. It was reported that they had been dating for five months at the time their relationship went public.
Lee Dong Gun and Jo Yoon Hee
The actor took everyone by surprise when he suddenly announced his plans to marry fellow Laurel Tree Tailors actress Jo Yoon Hee just two months after they started dating. At the time of revelation, she was already pregnant. The reason why the news took everyone by surprise was because Dong Gun had just confirmed his breakup with T-ARA’s Jiyeon not long before that.
Ji Sung and Lee Bo Young
The couple met on the set of Save The Last Dance For Me but it was only after the drama wrapped up that they started dating. Despite being plagued with breakup rumours since they confirmed their relationship in 2007, the pair went on to get married four years ago.
Jang Dong Gun and Go So Young
They met on the set of Love Wind Love Song, hit it off immediately and became best friends. But it wasn’t until a few years later when they met in Los Angeles over dinner that sparks flew. The couple confirmed their relationship in 2009 and got married a year later.
Eugene and Ki Tae Young
Although Eugene is from the widely popular girl group SES, Tae Young didn’t know of her prior to filming. But two didn’t fall in love at first sight. In fact, they weren’t even together when rumours of them being a couple while they were filming were rife. Interestingly, it was those rumours that got them interacting more and towards the end of filming, Tae Young found himself falling for Eugene. The couple is now married with a daughter.

Ahn Jae Hyun and Goo Hye Sun
When the Blood co-stars were revealed to be dating, everyone had nothing but blessings for the sweet pair. The actor made every woman green with envy when he posted a video of how he had proposed to Hye Sun – with a bonnet full of flowers. The couple is now happily married and even had their own reality show.
Song Seung Heon and Liu Yifei
The Korean actor fell for the Chinese actress on the set of The Third Way of Love. The couple confirmed their relationship in 2015. They once revealed that they converse in English, and that language hasn’t been a barrier in their relationship.
Chae Rim and Gao Ziqi
The pair started off by acting as a married couple in a drama. They then took their onscreen romance off-screen and got married in 2014.
