g.o.d’s Joon Park
BAMMM! If you are familiar with g.o.d’s Joon Park—the K-pop idol who is 49 years old—you’d also know his brand of humour, which will leave you in stitches. His channel, WassupMan, is produced by Korean channel JTBC, and the videos see him travelling around South Korea (and also USA, where he grew up), as he familiarises himself with what millennials do—including queueing up for cake—and exciting things to do in Seoul. His no-holds-barred sense of humour and the team’s editing skills make this a joy to watch, especially when the team tries desperately to save a product placement from being ruined. If you’re looking for an unscripted and real variety show, this is the channel to follow.

The Thai CLC member first launched her videos a year ago, as part of Cube Entertainment’s YouTube page, using the same series name, PRODUSORN. At that time, she would do live streaming on the channel, answering some of the common questions people had about K-pop idols, such as being a trainee and life as a girl group member, in English and Thai. She now has her own channel, but she has changed the concept of her videos to vlogs.

He was the emcee of TV show After School Club for two years, so you can be assured that he’s entertaining AF. His vlogs are funny and his videos often feature his celebrity friends, including 2PM’s Nichkhun, so you’ll definitely be entertained. Up till a few months ago, he posts video regularly, but he hasn’t posted anything in four months, possibly because he and his band have been on a world tour. They’ll be having their encore concert in March, so you might see new content after everything has been wrapped up.

Any BTOB fan would want to subscribe to Peniel’s channel because apart from vlogs about his daily life, he also gives viewers an insight into what goes on behind-the-scenes during BTOB shows. He doesn’t update regularly—the last he updated it was three months ago—but he already has quite a number of videos to keep you occupied till his next upload.

If you watched her channel, you might not even realise that she’s actually a talented vocalist and dancer because she’s that good at making vlogs. Like other YouTubers, she creates themes for each video, giving tips while letting fans know what she’s up to. Last year, she turned up for SM’s Halloween party as Groot (her photos were trending on social media sites) and in one video on her channel, she walked us through the making-of process.

It’s not often that you see an SM Entertainment artist running their own channel and essentially doing whatever they want. Amber gives us an unfiltered glimpse into the life of a K-pop idol while entertaining us with funny videos. In some videos, she makes the SM staff and other K-pop artistes try out snacks that are popular in America, such as Lays’ Salt and Vinegar chips. In a few videos, she plays games with her group of friends. Sometimes, she also posts song covers. Our fave? The parody of BTS’ “Fake Love”, “Bacon Love”, which she filmed with her YouTuber friends.
