If you’re into J-pop or Johnny’s Entertainment artists, you’d know Hey! Say! JUMP, a boy band that has been around for 11 years. Despite having been in the industry for more than a decade, the members’ average age is only 27.

Comprising Kota Yabu, Yuya Takaki, Kei Inoo, Hikaru Yaotome, Daiki Arioka, Keito Okamoto, Ryosuke Yamada, Yuto Nakajima and Yuri Chinen, the group has not only made a name for themselves as performing artists, but also actors. Yamada is best known for his roles in The Files of Young Kindaichi NEO and Tantei Gakuen Q, while Nakajima received critical acclaim for his performance in Hanzawa Naoki.

The group has come a long way since they started out as a five-member temporary group, Hey! Say! 7. Now, they’re selling out concerts in Domes (the biggest concert venues in Japan) and arenas.

The group may enjoy massive success in Japan, but their overseas shows are few and far between. Their last Asian tour in 2012 took them to four countries, including Hong Kong and South Korea.

This year, they will be returning to dim sum’s home country to meet fans as part of the lineup of performing artists on THE MUSIC DAY Songs for You, a five-hour music show that will be shown on GEM. The nine-member group will be performing live in Hong Kong and will be having a special meet-and-greet session with some fans, including GEM’s viewers.

Leader Yabu was quoted in a press release, ‘’We held a concert in Hong Kong for our Asia tour back in 2012, but it was one of the places that we wanted to visit again as a group. We’re elated to be given the opportunity to visit Hong Kong this time! We hope to present our performance to everyone in Asia.”

He added, “While we’re in Hong Kong, we would like to try the city’s famous cuisine, so we welcome all recommendations. We hope that GEM’s viewers will look forward to our performance.”

Are you bummed that Singapore hasn’t been lucky enough to have Hey! Say! JUMP performed here yet? The good news is, you can make your dream of watching the J-pop group come true because StarHub and GEM are running a contest to send a winner and his/her companion on a three-day-two-night trip to meet Hey! Say! JUMP.

The winner will enjoy an all-expenses-paid trip to Hong Kong for two and get to watch them perform live, as well as meet them there. Plus, this could be your last chance to see them as a nine-member group until a few years later, because member Okamoto will be headed to the US to further his studies from September onwards.

Visit www.GEMtvasia.com/TheMusicDay for more information on the programme and how to win passes to the exclusive event.

Even if you didn’t win the contest, you can still stream the show live on GEM on July 7, at 4.40pm. After all, top acts including Arashi and EXILE will be performing on the show (albeit in Japan).

GEM is available in Singapore through Singtel TV Ch 519 and StarHub TV Ch 814*. Free preview of the channel on StarHub TV is available from July 3, 8:20am to July 27, 12pm.
