Here are 5 highlights from Eric Nam’s concert in Singapore last night
Didn’t get to attend Eric Nam’s sold-out show at The Pavilion on Saturday night? Or just having PCD (post-concert depression)? We recap the singer-songwriter’s Singapore stop of his Before We Begin tour, named after his latest album of the same name. This all-English album is a departure from Eric Nam’s usual K-pop genre, marking a new chapter in his career as a global pop artist.

1. His well-crafted set list
Eric Nam is known for dabbling in a wide range of genres – from slow ballads to R&B beats to trendy dance tracks. His attention to detail is demonstrated in the curation of his set list, which transitions seamlessly from his slower, dreamier ballads (“Miss You”, “This Is Not A Love Song”) to pop-driven dance tracks (“Don’t Call Me”, “You’re Sexy I’m Sexy”).
2. The interactive stage (and the 10/10 fan service)
In the first talking session, he thanked the crowd for coming to his “Ted Talk” and admitted that his shows are “30% music and 70% talking crap”. Given how intimate the setting was, the concert allowed for up close and personal interactions with the singer. He even entertained song requests by fans, including a birthday song for fans who were celebrating their birthdays. Which brings us to the next highlight…
3. When the concert became a mini karaoke session
After performing a whole line-up of songs, Eric then went around asking fans for song requests. He didn’t hesitate to break into song and sang an acapella version of “Stop The Rain” and “Heaven’s Door”. The charismatic performer soon had the crowd singing along too, turning the concert into a karaoke session.
4. When he joked about buying a house in Singapore
The singer is no stranger to Singapore. Having hosted HallyuPopFest in 2018 and filmed No Sleep No FOMO here last January, he commented, “Singapore honestly feels like my second home in Asia… you guys have got the weather except sometimes it’s too hot but it’s still good, and you’ve got the food…” A fan even told him to buy a house here, which made him chuckle and say, “I need to get a lot more work here first, and then we’ll look into that.”
5. When he busted out his dance moves
When performing “Like You”, Eric busted out his dance moves and teased fans with his sleek body rolls. He even went to the sides of the stages and leaned against the speakers, doling out fan service and posing for cameras. One thing’s for sure – this man knows what he’s doing.
