June is the time when most Singaporeans break out their luggage and travel. But you don’t have to have FOMO if you’re staying put here this month. Here are some activities to keep you busy throughout the month.

Avengers fever is still alive and kicking here in Singapore with this 10th anniversary interactive exhibition that takes a unique look at each Marvel Studios super hero. The ultimate house music festival is back this summer with an amazing line-up of stellar DJs including Skirllex, Alesso, Kygo and deadmau5, who are all slated to perform during the two-day, three-stage event. The acts will be spread across three stages and performances will go late into the night with only the most electrifying, pulsing music that makes this event one of the most energetic in town.

Dates: June 1 to 3
If you love shopping lesser-known and up-and-coming brands, don’t miss Artbox Singapore, which returned for its second year. While experience from last year taught us that the crowds might be a little next level, the goodies you’re likely to find might just outweigh the hassle. Expect artisans from around Asia to be showcasing at the event, making it a great place to pick up a few presents for other people (and for yourself, of course). The event will run over two weekends, so the second weekend will be a bit quieter.
Dates: Now till June 24
Running from the last weekend of May until 24 June (aka Ubin Day), Pesta Ubin celebrates all things nature in Singapore with events on Pulau Ubin suitable for all age groups. Take this opportunity to sign up to kayak through the mangroves surrounding the island, or go by land and do a little cycling. You can even do walking tours that take you to little known areas of the island with experienced guides explaining the history as well.

The Lion King

The musical version of one of Disney’s most popular movies is hitting our shores this June. Be sure to book your tickets so you can singalong to this award-winning production that boasts towering puppets and, of course, all your favourite songs.
Hari Raya Aidilfitri
Date: June 15
After celebrating Hari Raya, why not head to the Malay Heritage Centre’s annual open house the week after (on June 23) and learn a bit more about Singapore history and Hari Raya? There will be performances, talks and in the evening, festivities will continue as the grounds at Istana Kampong Glam are light up in celebration.
Dumpling-making at Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall
Date: June 16 and 17
The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as the Dumpling Festival, is a great time to learn how to make these delicious creations! Visit the Sun Yat Sen Nanyan Memorial Hall for a series of cooking and storytelling sessions, where you can learn to make them and also where these dumplings came from. It’ll be both an educational and delicious day.
Niall Horan Flicker World Tour 2018 Singapore
Date: June 12
Another One Direction-er will be heading to town this June as Niall Horan follows in Harry Styles’ footsteps for a performance here at The Star Theatre. Expect to see him perform tracks off his debut album Flicker, including the hits This Town and Slow Hands. His songs are a little less pop, a little more folksy than his former bandmates, so expect an easygoing, evening of good, hummable tunes.
TWICE 2ND TOUR ‘TWICELAND ZONE 2 : Fantasy Park’ IN SINGAPORE
Date: June 17
Singapore is the first Southeast Asian stop for K-pop girl group TWICE’s tour right after their three-day concert in Korea. Performing at the Singapore Indoor Stadium for their second concert in Singapore, expect lots of visual effects of high production value from the nine-member girl group. Last year, the group performed to a sold out, 5,000 strong crowd at The Star Theatre, and now that they’ll be in a bigger venue, you can expect an even bigger show.
DBS Marina Regatta
Dates: June 2 and 3
Held at the The Promontory@Marina Bay, DBS is partnering with UnderArmour for this edition of the regatta that is being spread over two weekends for the first time. The brands have teamed up to create an extensive land and water obstacle course called Battle Bay Extreme, with all proceeds going to charity. If that’s not your thing, you can also take part in yoga classes, visit the Creator’s Market and participate in a slew of other activities perfect for the whole family.
