Hara, when I first started getting noticed, you were worried about me and told me to contact you if I had difficulties. You are so beautiful and shine so brightly, but I’m so sorry I didn’t do anything or help you. I am very sorry. I should have helped you just a bit and for that, I’m so sorry. I’m so angry and I really hate the world. I hope you’ll be happy there. Sorry. Thank you.
Singer-songwriter Soy Kim wrote:
Rest in peace, Hara. I am so saddened and heartbroken by this loss. We can’t afford any more of these beautiful souls to leave us. We just can’t.
Do Woo, Hara’s former labelmate who was member of A-JAX, wrote:
As a senior in the same company when we were promoting as a group, you were our pride and envy. Thank you. May your soul rest in peace.
Korean actress Park Minyoung, who was in Singapore for Starhub Night of Stars last night, wrote in a now-deleted post:
I’m sorry that I couldn’t be with you on your final path… I will remember you as my cute Hara. Take care on your journey.
The duo acted together in 2011 drama City Hunter.
IU, who is good friends with both Sulli and Hara, held a concert last night and dedicated “Love Poem” to Sulli, a friend she “could no longer see”. Later during the concert, she received news of Hara’s passing.
Before she sang “Dear Name”, she said, “I had no idea I’d come to sing this song in a situation like this. I don’t know if I’ll be able to sing this well, but since it’s an encore… If I end up failing to sing the song, please sing it with me.”
She also reminded fans to love one another. She said, “Sometimes, the world can be a cruel place and we don’t want to be associated with it. But we need to live on and love each other harder.”
Super Junior’s Kim Heechul, who was close to both Sulli and Hara, unfollowed everyone on Instagram last night and made his account private, sparking worry among fans.

Korean media outlets have reported that singer Goo Hara, best known as a member of girl group KARA, has passed away at home.
The articles reported that officials at the Gangnam police station said the 28-year-old was found at home today (November 24) at around 6pm (Korea time).
The police are investigating the cause of her death. It is unclear if she took her own life.
In May this year, it was reported that she had attempted suicide and was found by her manager, who revealed that she has been battling depression.
The actress later apologised for the incident and said, “So many things were happening in my life, all at the same time. I am truly sorry. I will show a brighter and healthier side of myself.”
The “things happening in her life” referred to her lawsuit with her ex-boyfriend, which had been ongoing since last year. Both had accused the other of physical assault, while Hara had sued him for blackmailing her with a sex tape in an act of revenge porn. He was also charged with coercion, destruction and damage to property.
In August, he was found guilty of most of the charges, and received a jail sentence of one year and three months, suspended for three years. He was found guilty of most of the charges, except the sex tape that he and Hara had filmed.
She released a Japanese single, “Midnight Queen”, in September, marking her comeback.
In October, her good friend Sulli, was found dead in her home. Hara, who was in Japan at that time, had an Instagram live session where she cried and apologised for not being able to go to the funeral because of her schedule in Japan.
She described them to be as close as siblings. During that live session, she told Sulli, “I will live hard and work hard for you.”
Hara was a member of girl group Kara from 2008 until the group disbanded in 2016.
She is currently active as a singer in Japan and just wrapped up her Zepp tour.
Four days ago, she uploaded a video of her performance in Japan on Instagram, with the caption, “Everyone, I made good memories. Thank you!”
If you suspect a friend could be suffering, here are a few things you can do: Listen closely to their feelings and try not to give solutions. Instead gently advise them to get help early, and be supportive. Check in on them when possible, to see how they are coping.
