Nathan Hartono and Jeon Na-Young
Hearts were broken when singer Nathan Hartono publicly announced his relationship with Dutch-Korean singer/actress Jeon Na-Young last June. The pair fell in love after starring in the musical The Great Wall: One Woman’s Journey. The couple are still going strong, despite their busy schedules and the fact that Na-Young has to commute frequently for work. She played the servant Tuptim in West End production of musical The King and I that finished last September, while her hometown is in The Netherlands. “To the one who is kind, to the one who is patient, to the one who makes me so so grateful….To the one who loves and understands me like nobody else. Happy (belated) Valentines,” he wrote.
Shane Pow and Kimberly Wang
Rising star Shane Pow and host Kimberly Wang frequently share chummy photos of the two on Instagram. But their Valentine’s posting was extra heartfelt with a short and simple caption from Shane which reads, “I’ll hold on to you till the end of time.” Kim’s response? “My Everyday ❤” Everybody say aww.
Joshua Tan and Zoen Tay
No longer just an ah boy, Joshua Tan is all grown up. Despite missing V-day due to national service obligations, Joshua didn’t miss the chance to create a special memory for his medical school student girlfriend Zoen Tay with romantic pre-Valentine’s dates, something she was quick to acknowledge in her post. Joshua also posted a shout-out, saying: “19 months (to the exact same day) later, back at our secret spot which was so hard to find! I remember panicking inside holding your hand, trying to get us there while it was pouring. Well we got there in the end and we are still journeying hand in hand. ❤️” Too sweet.
Lee Teng and Gina Lin
No better day than V-day to go Instagram-official. Taiwanese-born host Lee Teng, 34, took to social media to reveal his relationship with girlfriend Gina Lin on V’Day (read more here). Gina, 27, is not from showbiz and works at an international advertising firm. She is also Taiwanese and is based in Singapore. The two had been dating officially since October last year despite knowing each other for about four to five years. Dressing in Korean traditional outfits, the two used the viral ‘follow me to’ pose to publicly announce their relationship, while also hoping to spread love and joy on the occasion. The two have marriage in mind, so here’s wishing them all the best!
Fann Wong and Christopher Lee
Fann Wong had many things to celebrate on Valentine’s. Not only was it her sister’s birthday, which Fann celebrated with her family at a restaurant complete with good food and wine, it was also the premiere date of two movies that she and husband Christopher Lee have roles in. Fann took to Instagram to plug her romcom, When Ghost Meets Zombie, which stars Nathan Hartono, Ferlyn G, Jesseca Liu and Jeremy Chan, as well as Chris’ movie, It Started With A Kiss, starring Canadian-Chinese actress Christy Chung, Taiwanese heartthrob Darren Wang Ta Lu and Chinese actress Jelly Lin. How sweet.
Felicia Chin and Jeffrey Xu
While actor Jeffrey Xu was not in town to celebrate Valentine’s Day (he’s in Shanghai for work), he did not forget to send flowers to girlfriend and fellow actress Felicia Chin, to remind her of the love that they had. But Jeffrey took it a step further and sent a bouquet to Felicia’s mother as well. What a sweetheart! It worked well — her mother was so thankful that she said a little prayer to bless the young couple. Guys, take notes.
Pan Ling Ling and Huang Shinan
February 14 holds extra special meaning to Pan Ling Ling and husband Huang Shinan. Not only is it Valentine’s Day, it is also the date when the two tied the knot. This year marks their 24th anniversary. Their relationship is one that has withstood the test of time, from initial obstacles they faced while dating — her father disapproved that he was nine years older — to Ling Ling’s health care (she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013 and had to undergo a partial mastectomy and chemotherapy). Shinan stayed by her side to take care of her and support her while she was undergoing treatment, something Ling Ling alluded to her in post. “Thank you for your love and care throughout these years,” she said, adding in Mandarin, “Thank you for your endless love.” #relationshipgoals
Pierre Png and Andrea De Cruz
Who could forget when news broke that Pierre Png donated half of his liver to then-fiancé Andrea De Cruz after a whole fiasco with slimming pills? Since then, Andrea has remained healthy and the couple are happy as ever. Andrea can often be seen accompanying Pierre while on the red carpet, and he constantly talks about her in interviews. Pierre dedicated V’day to his wife yesterday with a photo of the couple that was taken while on holiday, wishing everyone “perfect happiness with the love of your life”.
