She debuted when she was 15
She made her debut as a K-pop star as part of girl group f(x) when she was 15. She was known for her cute image and “eye smile”. Even as a rookie artist, she captured the attention of fans and fellow celebrities, some of whom named her as their ideal type.
She was a child actress
She acted in a drama, Ballad of Seodong, in 2005, playing the role of young Princess Seonhwa of Silla. Around the same time, she auditioned to be a trainee at SM Entertainment. She revealed in variety show The Night of Hate Comments that the agency wasn’t accepting new trainees then but one of the staff edited a video of her singing, dancing and acting in Ballad of Seodong and Lee Soo Man, who was the CEO at the time, said there was no way they wouldn’t cast her.
People gave her grief for dating Choiza
Sulli started dating in 2014 and many criticised their relationship because he was 14 years older than her. They dated for five years before breaking up in February this year.
People also gave her grief for not wearing a bra
Sulli has been vocal about how she sees bra as an accessory and prefers not to wear it. Some netizens were against her liberal views and criticised her for posting braless photos on Instagram (although she was full clothed in those photos). IU wrote two songs about her
IU and Sulli have been known to share a close friendship after they both hosted the same music show, Inkigayo, in 2011. In 2012, IU wrote a song, “Peach”, which was written in the perspective of a man who looks at Sulli. After Sulli’s passing, the song reentered the charts. Another song, “Red Queen”, was inspired by a drawing that Sulli had done. Recently, IU invited Sulli to play a minor role in her drama, Hotel del Luna.
