The ’90s marked some great additions to society – Pokémon was born, Park Shin Hye was born, and you probably were too – and so was the BABY-G watch. But while you probably took at least eight years to develop your coolness, BABY-G immediately became a fashion force to be reckoned with, quickly becoming what all the cool kids were wearing at the playground. The BABY-G was the coveted watch, melding the toughness of the hugely popular G-SHOCK with designs that suit their female audience aesthetically and functionally.
As we all know, the ’90s are back in style. As well as heralding the return of cargo pants and tiny glasses, it also means your favourite BABY-G watches are back – except, much like you, they’re even more stylish now. The BABY-G of 2018 has a sleeker look with clean, sharp lines. Think cool, not cutesy. The watch straps are now slimmer, with more closely spaced holes to allow a better fit and a more minimalist vibe that makes it the perfect companion to wear every day. There’s also some added functionality you’ll love, like the step tracker that’s featured in the sports designs.
We followed fashionista Mong Chin Yeoh, aka @mongabong, on a day around Singapore to show you how you can take your BABY-G to a whole new style level with your favourite wardrobe pieces.
