Myolie Wu got hitched a few days ago, and while we were in awe of wedding – her husband and the groomsmen came in a Ferrari, a BMW, a Porsche and two Rolls-Royces, y’all – we couldn’t help but linger our attention on her wedding dress.
Oops, wrong dress. This traditional two-piece embroidered with 3D dragons and phoenixes might have took more than a year to complete and cost a whopping HK$200,000 (S$36,380), but it’s the white gown that caught our attention.
It looks just like Kate Middleton’s wedding gown, save for the mermaid silhouette (Kate’s had an A-line skirt).
The dress, however, is not an Alexander McQueen. Rather, it’s a piece from her bridal salon, Kevolie, which she started earlier this year after leaving TVB.
Myolie Wu married businessman Philip Lee whom she had dated for a year, and had kept the wedding date hush-hush even during the official opening of her bridal studio in August. Kevolie is her business venture with fashion designer Kev Yiu, whom presumably is the designer of her wedding gown.
But the wedding dresses were not the only pieces that wowed us. Her husband also got her a pair of Sophia Webster heels studded with crystals. She wrote in the caption, “Thank you for searching for the last pair in the whole wide world for me, look forward to putting them on [tomorrow].”
The former Miss Hong Kong second runner-up might have left the television station after 16 years, but if she can have such a grand wedding for herself, we’re pretty sure her bridal boutique will have no problems attracting customers.
