Singaporeans love their luxury brands, if the snaking queues at Hermès and Chanel during bonus season are anything to go by. But not everyone can afford to splurge their salary on designer brands. Which is why, when these atas brands collaborate with brands that we can actually afford, our wallets cry tears of happiness. Sure, not all the pieces are cheap but hey, at least we can say we own a tiara from Giambattista Valli for $64.95. Here are all the new fashion collabs with atas brands you need to get your hands on.
The fashion brands surprised everyone when they suddenly dropped a collaborative collection featuring “MEXICO 66™ GDX” sneakers in two colourways: black and white (of course). If you prefer something simple and indiscreet, you’ll love the all-white version. Like a bit of colour? Go for the black one with white and red accents. The sneakers retail for $850 per pair, which is pricier than the usual Onitsuka Tiger sneakers, but is slightly more affordable than most Givenchy shoes. Available at Givenchy stores.
If you’re into high street labels, you’ll definitely be familiar with Opening Ceremony. This collaboration is definitely surprising, and so are the pieces from the capsule collection. The eight pieces evoke summer feels and most are adorned in florals, which is quite unlike what Opening Ceremony is known for. Match them with your Opening Ceremony tote bag for an edgy finish. Available on YOOX.
H&M x Giambattista Valli
H&M never fails to surprise us with every collaboration. This year, they’re continuing their collaborative efforts with another label, Giambattista Valli. If you’re familiar with the latter, you’d know that the brand is famous for their couture gowns. So will we see floor-sweeping gowns for the collab? Pretty much. The brand dropped a preview of what’s to come in November 7, 2019, and the pieces from the pre-drop collection include asymmetrical dresses (prices start from $219), white pieces befitting of brides and suits. If the pre-collection is already this extra, we can’t wait to see how OTT the main collection will be!
Everyone who knows fashion knows A BATHING APE—or BAPE. The good news is, they’ve teamed up with Swatch for a special collection of limited edition watches, dedicated to five cities in the world and… the world. Sure, pieces from BAPE won’t cost you an arm and a leg, but if you don’t want to fork out $100 for a T-shirt that you can’t use every day, why not fork out $205 for a watch that you can use daily? Cost per wear? Extremely low.
We know, it’s hard to get your hands on these, but if you need to complete your Yeezy look and unlike Kim Kardashian, you can’t balance yourself in their heels, these sneakers are definitely a good option. Plus, you can wear them daily, whether to work (if your office culture is super chill) or out on weekends! More bang for your buck! If you’re interested, YEEZY-BOOST-350-V2-SYNTH-RF will be available on June 20, 2019 at Limited Edt at MBS.
It’s not the first time Uniqlo has tied up with a designer, and it’s definitely not their first collab with Alexander Wang. His pieces usually go for a couple of hundreds of dollars, but the AIRism ones from Uniqlo will definitely only cost you a fraction of your salary. Plus, the AIRism technology is perfect for Singapore’s weather, so who’s complaining, really?
