If you’re a fan of Hello Kitty and collect all related memorabilia, here’s a little something to add to your collection – but it will cost you a few hundred dollars.
Poh Heng is teaming up with everyone’s favourite five apples-tall cat (or girl) for Singapore’s 52nd birthday. The Singapura x Hello Kitty commemorative piece is a 22K gold plate that’s shaped like our little island, with Hello Kitty embossed right in the middle. And to demonstrate our image as a “garden city”, Hello Kitty is surrounded by six flowers. Why six? They’re supposed to represent the crescent moon and five stars on our flag.

So, if you’ve got $520 to spare – that’s the retail price of the gold plaque – you’d definitely want this to build your collection. The commemorative piece comes in a cute red and white packaging in the shape of Singapore, and adorned with a winking Hello Kitty.
Singapura x Hello Kitty will be available from July 2017 onwards.
