Korean actress Yoon Eun Hye recently made headlines, and it’s not because she has a new drama in the works.
The 30-year-old recently appeared on a Chinese fashion survival show The Goddesses’ New Outfit, which has a similar concept to Project Runway. On the episode that was aired on August 29, Korean designer Yoon Choon Ho accused her of copying his design.
He wrote on his Facebook page: “I received a message from a Chinese buyer. Our clothes appeared on a fashion TV programme in China. I thought it was just a sponsorship but yesterday, I was told that an apparel similar to ARCHE’s design came out on the show but it was made by another woman.”
He also uploaded photos showing the similarities between his designs and Yoon Eun Hye’s coat.
In a separate post, he said that the actress and the stylist had picked up clothes from his brand just a few days prior. “The two of them made [the coat]. I’m getting goose bumps because there’s more evidence.”
The actress has since denied the allegations in a statement and claimed he was simply riding on her popularity. She went on to say that she drew inspo from a piece from the Viktor & Rolf’s 2008 collection, as well as Lanvin’s collection last year.
Following his allegations, the Korean media also pointed out that two of her designs in the previous episodes were similar to BCBG and Dolce&Gabbana.
