Once upon a time if you mentioned the word jeans, once would assume a denim pair of pants, used mostly on casual occasions. And the right assumption is that said pants would actually entail having fabric that covers both your bottom and your legs. Well, be prepared to have your mind blown because, fashion.

Well, first of all it started with 2016’s most trailblazing brand Vetements.

Still thinking that jeans don’t expose enough skin? Don’t worry they’ve got you (un)covered with a shorts version.

And then the internet got really confused by Topshop’s Clear Knee Mom Jeans. Because if there’s anything your jeans are missing, it’s vinyl knee panels.

This is the description on the website: “Off-duty styling never looked so good. Crafted from pure cotton, our MOTO mom jeans come in authentic mid blue rigid-look denim. Cut with a high-waist and a tapered leg, they are finished with multiple pockets, classic trims, and cool clear-knee panel detail. Wear them folded at the cuffs to keep them looking cool.”

The internet got momentarily confused, but rallied together in a rare show of unity to express their love for these jeans.

And just when we started accepting the fact that Clear Knee Mom Jeans might actually become A Thing, Topshop’s designers saw our comfort with it and raised us with this pair of totally transparent clear vinyl jeans. (Can they still be considered jeans if they aren’t made out of denim?)

While we have so many questions, (Where does the sweat go? What DO you wear underneath?) don’t be surprised to see some of the more daring celebrities trying out this trend. We’re looking at you Kim, Kylie and Rihanna.

Preferably paired with these as well.
