According to these stats, the average height for a female Singaporean is 160 centimetres. Which means, for most of us who are buying our clothes from a standard high street brand (which usually originates from European countries), the pieces tend to not fit us as well as our taller, Western counterparts—especially when it comes to pants.
While most of us either get them hemmed at the tailor (ditto) or wear our pants with heels (ditto again), the latest styling trick to come out of the runway shows and street style scene is to wrap the ankle straps of your shoes around the base of your too-long pants. And if your pants happen to be of a wider leg variety, you can even pull them out slightly to make them look like harem pants.
While this styling trick tends to work best with strappy heels as it creates a nice lace-up effect, we reckon any ankle strap shoe be it heels or flats will do the trick!
