If the first word that comes to mind when you think about your workspace is “messy”, “cluttered” or “disorganised”, then know that your working environment can negatively impact your productivity and creativity.
Research has shown that there is a correlation between how organised our workspace is, and our productivity level and our mental health. Because objects in our field of vision can take up our attention even if we aren’t actively looking at them, a disorganised desk can therefore deplete our brain’s processing power and stress us out.
The good news is, you can easily reduce distractions and zen-ify your work desk. Here are some ways to do so, according to Deborah Lee, an interior designer at a lifestyle and living startup.
