Safe sex usually refers to the prevention of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, but where the physicalities are concerned, it’s about avoiding anything that hurts you. And you may be surprised to know that not enough people practise this form of safe sex, because according to this survey by Superdrug, an online doctor and pharmacy service, more than six in 10 people have sustained an injury during sexy time. The survey not only listed the most common injuries sustained by men and women, but also the most precarious positions for each gender.
Maybe it’s a result of all the Fifty Shades of Grey-inspired action going on in the bedroom. After all, Stephen Makinde, one of the United Kingdom’s top osteopaths and clinical director of the Perfect Balance clinic in London, also recently told Mirror Online that bedroom-related injuries have gone up by 80 percent over the last five years.
Anyhow, we can only speculate. So let’s just get to the data — scroll the gallery to check out seven common injuries women sustain while getting it on.
