If there’s one thing we envy about South Korean celebs (other than their moist-looking skin), it has got to be how they appear bright-eyed all the time. Their trick? Aegyo sal, or the fats under your eyes.
The plumpness creates the illusion of bigger eyes and makes one look younger. Unlike eyebags, it doesn’t extend all the way down, but just a few centimetres from the lashline.
The trend that became all the rage a couple of years ago in Korea, and while you might think it would have died out sooner than the rainbow cake craze, with the number of celebrities still on it, it looks like it’s here to stay for now.
Some Korean celebrities who were not born with aegyo sal have resorted to going under the knife to create them, but the good news is, you can mimic the effect with just makeup.
All you have to do is apply shimmery white or beige eyeshadow on your lower lashline, blending downwards. It’s similar to the trick of applying pearlescent eyeshadow on your inner corners, but now, you’re extending it to the other corners and downwards.
Here are eight to try.
