Did you know that air pollution can cause our skin to show signs of premature ageing such as dull, saggy skin, clogged pores and hyperpigmentation? Sensitised skin can also become reddened, itchy and irritated easily. These are usually caused by particulate matter (especially during haze season) and heavy metals emitted by vehicles and industrial activities, our high UV index (due to us being so near the equator), as well as blue light radiation from our digital devices are all sources of pollution.
While we’re lucky that Singapore’s Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) is between the Good and Moderate range, it doesn’t mean that anti-pollution skincare is not applicable to us. To combat the negative effects of pollution, it is important to cleanse your skin properly and use skincare rich in antioxidants. It’s also wise to use an anti-pollution mask regularly, to help purify your skin. Here are some masks that can give you clear skin.
