“I don’t see them as celebrities at all haha,” my friend texted me after the Epik High concert in Singapore. She had bought a VIP ticket and was very close to the front of the stage during the show. “They are just very chill people,” she added.
And I would have to agree. Going to the Korean hip-hop group’s concert is like attending your friend’s party. They bantered candidly with the crowd, got them hyped up and even touched on mental health.
Their performances didn’t have any frills—none of the bursts of fire and laser spectacle that Korean pop concerts are known for—but with just strobe lights, the trio slayed throughout their one-and-a-half-hour show.
