So you love having a tipple now and then, or perhaps, the regular reds and whites just aren’t doing it for you. Whether or not you’re a wine lover, you might want to give natural wine a try. It’s the latest trend that’s sweeping the wine world, but is far from being complicated. In fact, this phenomenon of ‘going back to the basics’ has actually been around for centuries.
In short, these wines are the product of an old-fashioned ancient wine-making process that lets nature take its course. Over the years, it has been cast aside by commercial wineries in favour of controlling and raising production quantity. But now, natural wines have made a big comeback thanks to how clean and natural these wines are.
We spoke with Philippe Chin, operations and wine manager of Drunken Farmer, a travelling natural wine bar by Spa Esprit Group, on why people should get on the natural wine bandwagon sooner rather than later.
