If you have a Ryan Gosling fan around you, you’d probably have seen the “Hey Girl” memes at least a thousand times. And you probably didn’t even think about questioning if it’s legit – it sounds like something the actor would say anyway.
But in a recent sketch, Ryan claimed he has never said that line.
In a promotional video for The Nice Guys, he and Russell Crowe were seen in the midst of a couple therapy, during which Russell confronted Ryan for endorsing products. He also asked the latter about the “Hey Girl” meme.
“I never said it. Now, I understand if you’re in a movie and you say, ‘You complete me,’ or ‘I’m just a girl standing in front of a guy,’ and that follows you around, and you’ve got to own that. But I never said it,” he said.

Russell then showed him other memes, including “Feminist Ryan Gosling”, which is a book of Ryan’s photos accompanied with text from feminist literature. Ryan vehemently denied the association. He said, “Feminist? That’s a title you’ve got to earn. I’ve never burned a bra. I’m not a good person. I don’t even compost, man!”
We’re not sure how much of the script in the sketch is true but hey boy, you’re still hot.
