Have an atas movie date
No one said you can’t go back to the tried-and-tested formula of watching movies. But if you want to make your date different from other movie-watching dates you’ve been on, why not treat yourself to the Platinum Movie Suites experience at Cathay Cineplexes? Apart from being able to enjoy the movie while sitting—or should we say resting—in a super comfortable reclinable chair with a blanket to keep out the cold, you can also enjoy the Welcome Platter, which comprises snacks you can enjoy during the movie. The best thing yet? They just launched a new menu for the Welcome Platters! Whether you love chicken or fish, or prefer the vegetarian option, there’s something for everyone! Ticket prices start from $28.

If you’re both the outdoors kind of person and want a luxe spin to your camping dates, why not try glamping? The tent is quite spacious and plush cushions are provided, so you won’t really feel like you’re really camping. Glamping City provides a selection of themed tents, including “romantic candlelight” and even customised themes! So if you’re bored of the usual outdoor date, this could be a good way to spend your weekend! Prices start from $170 per night.

Indulge in a spa day

Go for a private island getaway
Fancy a luxe getaway on a shoestring budget? And by luxe, we mean like private island kind of luxe. If that sounds like your dream vacay, then you might want to head to Batu Batu. The resort is on Pulau Tengah, a privately-owned island just off Johor Bahru. For RM1,900+++ ($622), you get a two nights’ stay at one of the villas. You’d need to top up RM290+++ ($95) per adult to have your three meals covered during your two-night stay.

Dine at a Michelin-starred restaurant
There’s nothing more luxe than heading to a place that you know was awarded a Michelin star. While there are quite a few in Singapore—including hawker centre fare—you can go for the Candlenut that offers mid-tier prices in an atas-looking place. Dishes start from $14 and go up to $32, but they’re served for sharing, so totally worth the price! If you’re super hungry and don’t mind splurging, go for the Ah-Ma-Ka-Se sets (LOL, we know) that cost $88+++ for lunch and $118+++ for dinner.
Be a legit wine oenophile
Holding a glass of wine can make you feel instantly more atas, and rattling off the names and types of wines can make you feel peak atas. Get acquainted with the different types of wines (or whisky, if you prefer) at one of the classes held by Fine Wines. The Introduction To French Wines Class is available at $150 and you get 5% off if you bring a friend—or your bae!
Have brunch at a “safari”
If you love Tiong Bahru Bakery and all the pastries and drinks it offers, good news, the chain cafe is now offering a more luxe experience at Dempsey in the form of TBB Safari. The new outlet has a—you guessed it—safari concept, surrounded by lush greenery and an edible garden. The latter lends its strength to the menu, as some of TBB Safari exclusives incorporate those edible plants and flowers. This will make you feel like you’re having brunch overseas! Prices start from $2.50 for a meringue and go up to $18 for a brioche loaf.
