Big Bang T.O.P, who recently received a 10-month suspended jail sentence, will no longer be able to serve as a conscripted police officer.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency committee ruled yesterday that it was “inappropriate” for T.O.P, whose real name is Choi Seung Hyun, to continue serving his military service as a police officer following his indictment.

T.O.P had pleaded guilty to smoking marijuana on four occasions last year and was given a 10-month jail sentence, suspended for two years. This means, it’s straight to jail for the rapper should he take drugs again during these two years of probation.

According to Korean news outlets, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency has put in a request to authorities to seek a new position for T.O.P. Should it go through, he would have to either serve as an active soldier or a public service worker.

The rapper had joined Gangnam Police Station in February this year to fulfill his mandatory military service.
