The next time you see T.O.P on a billboard or TV commercial, marvel over not just the products he’s endorsing, but also the fact that he’s been paid a lot of money for it – reportedly more than A-list actors such as Song Seunghun and Jo Insung.
A post on Instiz, a Korean forum, revealed the endorsement fees of various Korean actors and actresses, such as Song Joongki, Gong Hyojin and Gong Yoo, and included in the list was Big Bang’s T.O.P.
The papers revealed that T.O.P, who goes by his birth name Choi Seunghyun as an actor, commands 500,000,000 KRW ($579,000) for a six-month endorsement deal, and 900,000,000 KRW ($1.04 million) for a year-long endorsement deal.
He is currently fronting Millet, an outdoor clothing brand, as well as Nongfu Spring, a flavoured tea brand that he’s endorsing with his group, Big Bang.
Song Joongki, who recently catapulted to immense fame for his role in Descendants of the Sun, was revealed to command 400,000,000 KRW ($463,000) for a six-month contract and 800,000,000 KRW ($926,000) for a one-year deal. However, we wouldn’t be surprised if his fee has increased after acting in the hit drama.
As of last month, Joongki topped the list for most memorable endorsement model (based on survey results) for three consecutive months. He recently scored endorsement deals with Domino’s Pizza, Kolon Sport and Baskin Robbins, among other brands.
We’re not sure how legit the papers are, but we wouldn’t be surprised if these figures are true. (Also, someone is about to lose their job for leaking that info.)
