Over the weekend, two women came forward to accuse pop star Justin Bieber of sexual assault.
On June 20, a string of anonymous tweets by a woman named Danielle surfaced, claiming that on March 9, 2014, she was sexually assaulted by the pop star at the Four Seasons Hotel in Houston, Texas when he was in town with former ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez for a concert. She shared that she was motivated to come forward after hearing sexual assault claims against Baby Driver actor Ansel Elgort earlier in the week.
The woman was out with a couple of friends that night at an event that Scooter Braun (Justin Bieber’s manager) had held, hoping to see performers like Cody Simpson, Tori Kelly, The Wanted and more. Later in the night, Justin Bieber surprised the audience and performed a few songs.
A man allegedly approached Danielle and her friends and ask them if she wanted to meet Justin after the show. While they thought the premise was strange, they agreed because they were fans, and subsequently met Justin and took some pictures with him before he invited them back to his hotel.
For legal reasons, Danielle has chosen not to share any of the photos taken that night.
She claimed that Justin then separated her from her friends and brought her to another room, and then took her phone and made her agree not to say anything more. Danielle detailed how he asks her to join him in bed and that is where the assault happened. “I kept asking myself, ‘What about Selena?’, ‘Did I consent to this?’, ‘How will she react if she finds out?’, ‘Where are my friends?’, ‘How is this normal and okay?.'” She also explained, “My body felt unconscious. I don’t want to go into detail about what happened next.”
“Although this was 6 years ago, although I was one year older than him (he was 20, I was 21), I was still sexually assaulted without consent,” she wrote, adding that she’s since sought therapy to recover from the events. “What happened to me was not okay. It took me YEARS to finally speak up about it, but it is never too late to do so.”

Justin Bieber’s representative denies the allegations
In a statement to twitter account Pop Crave, Justin’s manager Allison Kate has denied the allegations.
She stated that Justin was staying in an Airbnb the night of the incident, and was not at the Four Seasons hotel. She also added that he stayed at the Westin the following night.
“I’m sorry it took so long to respond but we wanted to be respectful and address it with real info,” she said.
However, a few twitter users are skeptical, digging out old tweets to show that Justin was indeed at the Four Seasons that night.
A second woman came forward
Soon after, another woman by the name of Kadi came forward with allegations of her own against Justin Bieber.
She detailed a similar story to Danielle, claiming to have met Justin on May 4, 2014 and that she was invited back to Justin’s hotel room at the Langham Hotel by his body guard Mikey Arana. She also claimed that there were five girls in the room including herself and she starts to socialise with everyone in the room including Justin.
He allegedly asked her to come closer and started groping her. Kadi then got up to go to the restroom, where Justin proceeded to follow her, locked the door and allegedly sexually assaulted her. Kadi continued by saying that she told her sister what happened, but because of their family’s cultural and traditional values, she was advised to stay quiet about it.

Twitter users doubtful of second allegation
After Kadi’s tweets, netizens started digging online, finding some of her old tweets from 2014 and 2015, raising doubts about her ever meeting Justin. According to her tweets on June 6, 2015 and June 19, 2015, Kadi has yet to meet Justin Bieber personally. These tweets were made almost a month after the supposed sexual assault took place.
Justin Bieber personally denies the allegations
On June 22, Justin responded to Danielle’s allegation with a series of tweets and proof of his whereabouts on the night of the incident.
Other celebrities accused of sexual assault
These allegations have come right after a slew of other male celebrities have been accused of sexual assault. Earlier in the week, Ansel Elgort was accused by twitter user @itsgabby for sexually assaulting her when she was 17.
Ansel has since gone on to deny the claims on Instagram.
And on June 22, Riverdale actor Cole Sprouse also fended off claims of sexual assault made against him and co-stars Lili Reinheart, KJ Apa and Vanessa Morgan of sexual assault on twitter.
Both Cole and Lili have since went on to deny the claims. The account has since specified that she only did it to prove a point how easy it is to believe false anonymous accusations on the internet.
