BAFTA, or the British Academy Film Awards, happened today in London to honour the best British and foreign films, but what stood out on the red carpet was the fact that the women were dressed in black.

Yes, the Time’s Up movement has gone to London, as actresses and guests donned black to show solidarity. Many wondered if Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, will also don the colour, but she did not. Instead, the pregnant Kate opted for a green dress.

Some people were quick to criticise her, but her decision should not come as a surprise, given that the royals are not allowed to make political statements. By wearing black, she could have contravened the rules.

However, it seems she had another way of showing solidarity – by wearing emerald accessories. The duchess was decked out in the jewels, similar to celebrities who attended the Golden Globes last month.

The gemstone is said to symbolise feminine power, so we guess that’s her way of supporting the campaign without stepping on the Queen’s toes!

Here are a few celebs who turned up in black to support the movement.
