A good plot may be essential to a successful Korean drama, but a star-studded cast is often the lure to hook viewers on it.
New K-drama Entourage, a remake of HBO’s acclaimed TV series of the same name, exploits this formula by featuring a star-studded cast.
Seo Kangjun (Cheese in the Trap) plays the lead role as a rising actor, while Lee Kwangsoo (Running Man), Lee Donghwi (Reply 1988) and Park Jungmin (Reply 1988) act as his childhood BFFs. Also in the drama is Cho Jinwoong, who plays the CEO of Youngbin’s (Kangjun’s character) company.
The list of celebrities doesn’t end there. The drama will also feature Song Jihyo, Kang Haneul, Ha Jungwoo, Jin Goo, K-pop girl group Mamamoo, I.O.I’s Kim Chungha and Im Nayoung, Oh Dalsoo, Park Hanbyul and many others. Even movie directors like Park Chanwook (The Handmaiden) will make guest appearances. The total number of celebrity guest stars add up to 67 – which reportedly sets a new record in Korean drama history.
