Thanks to an update so un-user friendly it spawned its own memes, it’s not been a great start to the year for Snapchat. But then Kylie Jenner posted a seemingly innocent tweet and things got a whole lot worse.

In case you’ve already moved on to Instagram Stories and forgotten, Kylie is the undisputed queen (or should that be King, a la King Kylie) of Snapchat. So it’s not surprising that, just eight days after the birth of Stormi where she was no doubt operating on approximately 5 seconds sleep, and knee deep in nappies, Kylie was still confused enough about the new Snapchat update to tweet about it.

A lot of people agreed with her, and after a quick response to one of her fans who was championing “old Snapchat”, her feed reverted to beauty and cute baby stuff.

On February 21st, she tweeted again.

Seems pretty low key, right? But overnight, Snapchat’s company felt the Kylie Effect, with it’s stock plummeting $1.3 billion. We feel like at this point, we have to point out that apparently banks also finished low, so, while we are no stock experts, there are probably a few more variables than just the tweet at play.

But, along with the petition signed by 1.2 million people, it seems like this might have been the encouragement Snapchat needs to finally revert some of the features back.

They just responded to the creator of the petition, advising that “Beginning soon on iOS, and with Android in the coming weeks, we are introducing tabs in Friends and Discover, which will make it easier to find the Stories that you want, when you want them. Once you receive the update, you’ll be able to sort things like Stories, Group Chats, and Subscriptions, allowing you to further customize your own experience on the app.”

Fingers crossed it’s as good as they say, because we miss their cute grainy film filter.

Side note: while researching this story, we discovers that Kylie Cosmetics is releasing a Weather Collection, inspired by baby Stormi. It looks pretty great… (and is that Snapchat yellow accents we see?!)
