A month ago, news broke out that 2NE1’s youngest member Minzy was leaving the band and on the lookout for a new agency. As the group celebrates their seventh anniversary since their debut on May 17, 2009, Minzy announced that she has found a new home in The Music Works, a subsidiary of CJ E&M.

The record label, which also manages acts such as Baek Jiyoung and Kim Sohee, confirmed yesterday that they have signed an exclusive contract with the 22-year-old. In their press release, they stated that the company would not only help Gong Minji (Minzy’s birth name) develop as an artist, but she would also be helping to mentor My Teen, a group that is set to debut next year.

While Minzy has officially left 2NE1’s agency, YG Entertainment, fans are taking to Weibo to trend #2NE1SeventhAnniversaryFOREVERFOUR# to pledge their loyalty to the original quartet.

Sandara Park also updated her Instagram to celebrate the group’s debut anniversary with a photo from “Fire” era (presumably, judging by the hairstyle), with the caption “#7YearsWith2NE1”.
