YG Entertainment (YG) made an official announcement today that the release of WINNER’s new single will be delayed because of member Nam Taehyun’s health concerns.

The Korean boybander has been suffering from psychological issues since his trainee days, but they’ve worsened in recent months. YG has decided that the singer should go on a hiatus and that all of WINNER’s activities will be put on hold.

“It’s a disappointing situation that the timing for WINNER’s next activity cannot be anticipated. YG hopes the WINNER members successfully overcome the team’s first crisis, and we’ll be doing our best so that they can take off once again.”

Taehyun first debuted as a backup dancer for the YG Family Concert in 2011. In 2013, he was introduced as a trainee on the reality-survival show WIN: Who Is Next, which launched his career with WINNER.

The 22-year-old is currently staying with his mother to focus on recuperating well. Our fingers are well crossed.
